E.G. Steele strengthens long-standing partnership with Mandy Rail through new framework agreement

E.G. Steele has entered into a new framework agreement with long-standing customer Mandy Rail to supply and deliver rail freight components across the UK.

E.G. Steele is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of bogie and wagon parts and the new multi-year agreement marks a milestone in the company’s already successful business relationship with Mandy Rail. The agreement will see E.G. Steele supply, store and handle parts on behalf of Mandy Rail, providing next-day delivery to anywhere in the UK whenever components are required.

The partnership between the two companies also carries a unique personal connection. When Mandy Rail was a fledgling start-up business in 2019, E.G. Steele supplied them with their very first part - a screw coupling.

But their relationship goes back even further. Mark Hedley, who is joint Managing Director of Mandy Rail, began his career in rail freight with E.G. Steele, working as a wagon fitter at the Port of Blyth.

Mark said: “My career in rail freight began when I was 21 and E.G. Steele gave me my first opportunity in the industry. Eighteen years later, Mandy Rail is now working with the very company that helped start my career - without them, neither my career in rail nor Mandy Rail would exist.”
